About Books

Second-hand & Antiquarian Books

Regulars of a Saturday morning at the Owen Sound Farmers’ Market know there is much more than nourishment for the body available from all the busy vendors. There is also food for the mind. Books, shelves of them, draw the bystander to browse and maybe find an old literary friend or make a new one. Arwen Greenwood, proprietor of “About Books” has been at the market since 2003. Featured are good quality used books – mainly non-fiction – history, natural history, gardening, science, children’s literature, usually at half the new price.

About Books offers several specialty services – Arwen is an accredited appraiser, and offers a book search service and will buy single books or whole collections. She is member of the Antiquarian Booksellers of Canada and the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers.
